About:Chinese Embassy in South Korea

Hi,

We are cycling around the world, raising money for charity and are now in Quingdao. We are due to leave for South Korea on 21st Jan, then onto Japan. We want to travel by ferry so will have to return to Shanghai to transfer on train to Hong Kong.

Where are we able to apply for a visa to reenter China to get to Shanghai? What could we obtain to help us get the visa? Ie letter of invitation from Chinese Rugby Union for example. Could we apply for a fast re-entry visa tomorrow in Quingdao?

Thanks

Tom and Jodie

Hi Nancy, that is great news and we are very happy.

HOWEVER, i need to double check with you. On the Chinese Embassy in Japan page, it also says that you need an alien registration card, just the same as for Korea?

Could you check for us? It actually makes a very large impact on our travel commitments around these areas and the directions of cycling etc.

Thanks Nancy !!!

Tom

We recently got a visa from the Chinese Embassy in Busan for a visiting Canadian friend who wanted to travel but had no Alien Card. It took 2 days with rush fees (90,000w for all nationals except USA which is 190,000w), if you can travel to Busan and wait for the travel agent to issue the visa, you can leave by ferry from Busan to Shanghai as soon as the visa is issued. It worked for us. It seems not all Chinese consulates operate by the same guidelines, even if in the same country.

You can't apply for a visa to reenter China in South Korea because you don't have Alien Registration Card valid for at least 6 months. It is possible for you to get a China visa in Japan. You can't apply for a re-entry visa in Qingdao(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/shandong/qingdao/) generally speaking, the visa issued within Mainland China is 0 entry, you can't use it to re-enter China.

Sorry, made an error. If there is a US national among your ranks, then a rush fee of 50,000 would be added to the 190,000. The 90,000 for other nationals is including the rush fee.

Sorry. The process can only be done by an appointed travel agency. The embassies here do not accept individual visa applications. This is why the visa prices are more expensive than the price quoted by the embassy. The travel agencies tack on a fee for service. It's a racket. The government officials are corrupt I'm sure. They are channeling extra money and business to travel agencies who are most likely giving kickbacks to embassay officials I would suspect. Regardless of this, if you want to go you've got to play the game I suppose. The cell phone number for the travel agent we used in Busan was 010-4602-0970
