I'm a Portuguese citizen currently living in China, more precisely in Yantai. At the end of February I will work as a French teacher at a University, for which I need to apply for the working visa. Since I'm going to Japan on holidays at the beginning of February i assumed that I could apply for the working visa at your embassy in Tokyo. I would like to know if this is possible? If not, where can I go to apply for the visa? Hong Kong? Or must I go back to my home country?Thank you so much for taking your time to read and reply to my questions.kind regards,Paulo

For China visa applications, Chinese embassy in Tokyo requires the Certificate of alien registration with the period of more than half a year in Japan. So, you may not eligible to apply visa there. But you can contact the embassy to make sure or just have a try to apply when you are in Japan. Hong Kong is a good option for visa application if you can not get one in Japan.
