About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Hi
I am indian citizen working in china near quangzhou holding Z visa valid until dec 2011. I am planning to bring my family(wife & 1 kid) in "Z"Visa. So i have applied for the Visa invitation letter for my family at Bureau of foreign trade and economic cooperation of guangzhou municipality as per procedure. They received all the docs & gave me the date by 14 jan 2011 to collect. when i go to collect they replied that can't give the notification letter for the dependents as per new rule.

Please suggest me how to bring my family to china. What are all the possible ways?. If i bring my family in L visa how long they can stay here?. Can it be extended for some time? Can change the L visa to z visa after arrival?

Please..

Appreciate your valuable responses.

Accompanying family dependents of personnel working in China should provide a visa notification issued by an authorized unit or documents proving their status as dependents when they submit applications. That is no exception. L visa is generally with 30 days duration and can be extended twice in China. But to change from L to Z, it is possible if you can find a powerful visa agency. Anyway, you need to pay extra money for their service.
