About:Macau Travel

I'm planning a trip to HongKong in February 2011. I'm very confuse about getting a visa to go to Macau. I was told, "Yes" I'll need a visa and today I was told I don't need a visa. Please help me asap!
If i'll be needing a visa, should I get it while in the US or should I get it in HongKong?
Thank you for your help.
