About:Shanghai Transportation

On my way back to Canada from Bangkok I have a 6.5 hour layover in Shanghai. I will be arriving at Pudong Airport at 7:00 AM on China Eastern Airlines and I will be flying out at 1:30 PM on China Eastern Airlines.

Do you think my luggage will be tranferred for me or will I have to pick it up and check it again?

I would like to try to get out of the airport and take the Maglev and Metro to see Yuyuan Gardens for about an hour or so. It looks like it is possible but would anyone like give me their opinion?

It depends on what kind of flight ticket you hold. If you hold through ticket, your luggage will be transfered to Canada directly. If you hold separate tickets for your two flights, you will need to claim your luggage at Shanghai airport and re-check it. It is OK for you to go to visit Yuyuan Garden, but I think you'd better just go around the airport since you have only 6.5 hours and you have to do the transfer procedure.
Then you may just left 4-5 hours .
