Dear David,

You advised that if I carry the electric iron or a travel cooker (for personal use) I may have to declare at the customs when I enter China and whether it will be taxed. Do I also need to declare the dry packaged food items which will be used by me as and when needed during our China tour. Thanks in advance

Not necessary to declare and no tax on them. Generally, it is no problem to take those item in your lugguage, not carry-on lugguage. No need to declare the packaged food. Don't bring fruit
