About:China Consulate in Houston

My wife is living here in Florida with me and has a green card. Her Chinese passport will expire in Jan. 2011 and we plan to go back to China this summer so we would like to renew her passport. We know we will have to go to Houston, Texas for the renewal, but does anyone know the process, costs, documents needed and time it takes to get the new visa?
Thanks
