Hi, I want to apply for a visa to visit China for a holiday. I want to book my first few nights of accommodation, and then will book the rest when I get there...depended on how long I want to stay in Shanghai. I saw on the embassy website that I needed a letter from a travel agency...do I have to book through the agency or can I book accommodation online, and the go straight to the embassy to get the visa....thnkas!

If you want to get a A letter of confirmation from a China travel service(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/) you have to book its tour, you'd better book accommodation through the agency, otherwise, the Chinese travel agency will refuses to issue you a letter of confirmation.
