About:Chinese Embassy in Malaysia

I'm Malaysian, but currently study in Singapore. I'll be travel to China end of this month, 24 Dec from KL to Tianjin. However, I don't know where I can get my visa done? If I submit to any travel agent in Johor Bahru, they shall retain my passport and then I cannot come back to singapore. Any advice?

You can apply for China Tourist Visa(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/tourist.htm) in Singapore if you hold Singapore PR, WP, EP, STP or DP. I think you have Singapore PR, WP, EP, STP or DP because you study there. You shall submit visa application to Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Singapore rather than Chinese embassy because embassy only accept China visa application from dipolomatic/service/official passport holders.
