Hello,I'm visiting yunnan at the end of decemeber,I will be in Lijiang for 3 days and I'll be interested in hiking towards the tiger leaping gorge,I read that it takes at least 2 days for average hikers,since there will be only 2 of us hiking,is it dangerous to hike on our own?are the trail markings clear enough?and how will the weather be like while hiking in the mountains?when does the sun usually set in december?Hope you can help,thanks very much!

It is around 15 degrees and the temperature may be less than 5 degrees at night and early morning. Yes, the tour need at least two days, starting from Hutiaoxia Town in Zhongdian to Daju Town in Lijiang, or Daju to Hutiaoxia Town. If you walk leisurely, 2.5 days are needed. It is not dangerous to hiking on your own, but you may come across some problems. Time for sunset at nearly 6:30pm.
