About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

I have a 1 year 90 day multi entry visa and it ends 6/18/20011 for China, and I am married. I can apply for a temporary residence permit extending my stay for one year because I am marriedto a Chinese citizen. If my visa has ended before the one year residency is finished, do I have to apply for a new visa? In summary, is the temporary residence certificate an extension of my visa or same as a visa? I found out I can send my passport and application for a new visa before it ends to an American Visa agency, and they can send me a new visa on my behalf without me leaving China, so it would be no problem. Can someone please advise?

You can apply for a one year Residence Permit for family visit, but you are not permitted to work on this kind of Residence Permit. You don't need to apply for a new visa because the Residence Permit is same as a multiple entry visa, you can stay in China for one year without exit, or exit and enter Mainland China for many times during the validity of the residence permit.
