i'm confused whether to get off @ beigongmen stayiheyuan sta.

Question

I'm confused whether to get off @ beigongmen sta or Yiheyuan sta. Could we enter the north gate & exit at the east palace gate or is it the other way around, or could we only enter & exit at the east palace gate. If so which is the nearest station to the east palace gate.your reply will be much appreciated. Thank you.

If you go by subway, get off at Beigongmen Station which means the north palace gate of the summer Palace. You can enter the north gate and exit at any other palace gate. No problem for you to enter at the east gate first. You can take bus 209, 332, 331, etc to Yiheyuan Station. That is the east side of the Summer Palace.
