About:Chinese Embassy in Russia

As foreigners, can myself (UK Passport) and my companion (American Passport) apply for a chinese visa in Moscow. We have tried in Prague, where we were told we must be citizens or residents of Czech Republic. Is the same true in Moscow (must we have Russsian residency) or can we still apply as foreigners. Also must we have a invitation letter for a 6 month tourist visa with double/multiple entry? Thank you

Actually, applicants are required to apply China visa from their own countries or where they work and reside. You may try to mail back your applications to US and UK, let your family handle this for you. No invitation letter is required for a toursit visa there.

In this case there would be no way to apply for the Visa's in Russia? I have read online about services offering the invitation letter. But would we still need proof of residency? Thank you very much.

You can have a try, but as I know you have to provide proof of residency.
