About:Longji Rice Terraces

I plan to go somewhere around May.
Any advice on how to get to Dragon's Backbone from Guilin. Any reliable and cheap transport or how to take bus from Guilin. Thanks

Hi, Ms Alsher, May is a nice time to see the terraces and better to come in early May. Dragon's Backbone is just a general name for the terraces there. In fact, there are many villages there. The three entrance to enter the terraces is Dazhai Village which is endowed with the best view; Longji Village and Ping'an Vilalge. Ping'an and Longji are villages for the Zhuang Minority and Dazhai is a Yao Minority village. Guilin Bus Station has bus to Longsheng, nearly two hours. Then you can take bus shifting to Ping'an or Dazhai. Hiking between Ping'an and Dazhai would take 4 hours. Longji is about 40-50 minutes' hiking from Ping'an. Of course, you can travel by hiring a van in stead of walking.
