About:Apply for China Visa in a Third Country

I am in Thailand but need to obtain a tourist visa for China. Can I send my paperwork via courier to the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok, or do I need to apply in person? Thank you.

Actually, Chinese embassy in Thailand does not accept visa applications from short-time visitors there. You are required to apply China visa where you reside. But you can try to send back your passport and all other documents to America, let your family handle the visa on your behalf if time enough.
