About:Chinese Embassy in South Africa

I am a South African citizen who is a USA permanent resident. Later in November i will be going to South Africa for a visit. From South Africa i want to fly to Shanghai to investigate setting up a language school to teach English in China, and to recruit Chinese to teach Mandarin in the USA and elsewhere.
My question is: Can I get a visa on landing in Shanghai, or do i need to get one in SA or the USA before leaving?

If you reside in USA permanently, you are required to apply for a China visa there in advance. No visa upon arrival is available.
