what is the best way to enjoy the view of mutianyu great wall, beijing?

hello! im in my mid 40s and travelling with friends. we are scheduled to a trip on Mutianyu great wall on Nov 30 this year. Can you advise me the best way to enjoy the views of Mutianyu Great Wall? Will it be better for us to ride on a cable car on our way up and trek the mountain on our  way  down ? Or could it be possible to take a cable car up to a certain point and still trek the mountain up? Please advise me on this matter because I really want to enjoy the views of greatwall and at the same time be comfortable enough and not to tire myself at the end. Thank you very much.
