About:China Postal Service

Im currently in China, I want to send some postcards home, I bought stamps which say the are 540, but Im not sure 540 what? Are they 540 Yi jao which would then be 5.4 yuan and 1 per postcard would do. The girl I bought the stamps of off had no english.

It should be 540 fen (cent) which is 54 jiao or 5.4 yuan.
