Hi, I think Guangzhou Haitao Hotel is good for you. It is close to the shopping district. For shopping, you can go to Shangxia Jiu Lu and Teem Plaza area. THere are wholesales market near Guangzhou Railway Station. Sorry cannot assist you with the guide thing.
