About:Chinese Embassy in Nepal

hi.me and my girlfriend are currently in Nepal. We want to continue to China from here via Tibet. We can join a group here that will take care for the permit and the visa to Tibet (but it is only 20 days visa. The agency that orgenizes the tour told us that it is no problem to stay alone in Tibet and to extend our visa to china over there. However, we heard from other people that the chinese would not extend our visa and that we will have to leave china what so ever within those 20 days.
Do you know who is right in that issue? is it really possible to extend the visa at lhasa?
thanks
Jonatan

Now, foreigners can not be allowed to travel alone in Tibet. Here the visa is for China, but not Tibet only. and what special is the tibet entry permit, so you can travel to other places in China during the 20 days. Generally, the tourist visa can be extended twice in China.
