About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

RE: 7. Visa Exemption for Visiting the Pearl River Delta Region
We will be staying in Hong Kong for 5 days and my family would like to visit our hometown near Shenzhen but only for a day. It seems silly to get a chinese visa for just that day. Can we join a tour for that one day and visit our hometown and avoid getting a visa? If so, which registered travel agents can do this for us?
Would be grateful for any help. Many thanks in advance,

Tina

Sorry,Ms.Tina, you have to apply for a visa for your one day trip to mainland China. If your hometown is in Shenzhen, you can apply for a visa on arrival at Luohu Port. This visa allows you to stay there for 5 days only in Shenzhen. But if your destination is not Shenzhen, you need to apply for a visa to China in advance through a visa office in UK.

Hi Alvin, Many thanks for your email. can i just confirm something please? I spoke to my mum and our hometown is 30minutes outside the town of Shenzhen but she thinks it is still part of shenzhen area. please can you confirm that when you say Shenzhen, you mean, the province or area and not just the bordering town centre? Really appreciate your help, many thanks, Tina

Here I mean Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, the whole city, not the town center.
