I have been there this May and I should say that most pearl should be real and price varies greatly according to the shape, color and quality of the pearls. I bought a small pendant for my necklace, 20RMB, a pearl necklace (white color and looks better than the normal one) 110RMB. The nature color of pears are white, yellowish, pink or a bit purple. Nautal black pearl is very very expensive. So, the dark pearls may be painted out of common pearls. For good pearls, they are round, big and beautiful color with luster. Good pearls are usually sold as a single one. That is to say, a really good pearl may not cheaper than a pearl necklace. Two methods for you to identify a realy pearl: one - burn it. The pearl will get dark, clean it and it will look as good as first look. Two-hold two pearls or two necklaces and rub with each other. Real pearls friction make you feel a bit unsmooth. Hope this helps.
