About:Chinese Embassy in South Africa

Hello Alvin

Thank you for your reply. Is a temporary passport that is valid for 6 months or more fine when applying for the visa to china for the first time? Since I don't have a bank account at present. Is it possible for someone to stand as some form of guarantee for me, maybe someone who has 3 months bank statements like my parents? or if I open a bank account like today what is the minimum amount of money that must be in my account? Is it possible for me to submit a quotation of the air ticket rather than paying R10000 for the air ticket then my visa gets declined and I loose out of the R10000 because it is not refundable. What guarantee do I have in my situation after buying the ticket for about R10000 and not just loosing out on so much money?

Thanks
Jeff

A temporary passport valid for 6 months is Ok for visa application. If your parents will sponsor your trip, you can provide their bank statement with proof of your relationship. for most China visa applications, the round trip ticket is required. For detail info, better enquire at this number from Chinese embassy: 0027-12-4316500.
