About:Chinese Embassy in Vietnam

Hi and good morning,
I'm from Germany but working in Vietnam since 2.5 years. My domicile is Hanoi, confirmend by the German Embassy. Now I'm invited to attend a conference organised by the SWUFE in Chengdu and the People's Bank of China. The conference will be in Chengdu.
Last year I had serious problems to get a Visa and have been asked to apply for at the Chinese Embassy in Germany. This is not to manage, as I am living in Hanoi. On the other hand Chinese officials refused to issue a Visa, because it is not possible to get a Visa for China, issued by a third party country. Hmmmmhhh. Do I now have a chance to get the Visa at the Chinese Embassy in Hanoi......

Thanks

Rainer Stachuletz

If you hold the residence permit in Vietnam and it should be valid for at least 6 months when apply for visa, then you can apply there. if not, you need to back to Germany. Or, there is another way: to apply for the business visa in Hong Kong.

You can forget about getting any sort of Chinese Visa in Hanoi. The Visa office is being run as an extortion racket by the VN staff. They stuff you around till you have to the extraa for the rush service. Best bet is HCMC or enter via HK and get yr visa in 24hrs
