About:China Transit Visa

I am a U.S. citizen. I will be in Tibet on a Tibet visa (entering overland from Nepal). Then, I'll be returning to Bangkok but to get back to Bangkok, I will be flying from Lhasa, Tibet to Chengdu (Air China) to Kunming (Air China) to Bangkok (Thai Air). So, I will have two domestic flights within China (Lhasa to Chengdu and Chengdu to Kunming), but all are connecting flights and less than 24 hours pass between the Lhasa-Chengdu flight and the Kunming-Bangkok flihgt, i.e., I'll be in China for less than 24 hours, with my ticket taking me outside of China.

Do I need a Chinese visa? Thanks!
-Avner
