About:China Culture

Hello,

I am a Malaysian Chinese. I wish to visit China to pay respect to my last ancestor who passed away some years ago(and he had none other other relative in China) but I understand that people in his village have Ching Ming on a different day, sometime around one month later than the actiual day.

I have no contact of anyone there, thinking of arriving then to trace his tomb. Anyone know which date could this second Ching Ming be ?

Generally, there are three days in China to pay respect to ancestor who passed away. Ching Ming is on lunar March 3 (April 5 in the Gregorian calendar), and the other two are in lunar July 15 and lunar October 1st. The tomb cleaning can be ten days before and after Ching Ming or perhaps till a month time. There are different customs in different places. Hope this help.
