How have the floods affected Jiuzhaigou? I will be in Chengdu Sep 2nd and intend to visit Jiuzhaigou. Is it safe to go there? Also I heard that it's not safe to visit Mount Emei due to the heavy rain. Are there any other places that I can go. I will be staying in Chengdu 7 days.
Thanks

If you go to Jiuzhaigou by air, your trip won't be affected, since the ground transportation to Jiuzhaigou has been stopped due to the floods and heavy rain. Mt. Emei hasn't been affected, you can go there. Due to the rains and floods there, and the weather forecast said it would rain in Sichuan in the near future, if possible, I suggest you change you destination, you can go to Yunnan Province, Shangri-la and Lijiang are all in its best time.

Hi, I just back from chengdu and Jiuzhaigou, I was there from 25 august-4 sept, and it was very good! I went to jiuzhaigou by bus 12 hours/trip, and it's OK..Fortunately, there is no heavy rain, just ordinary rain...at some spots there was some landslide, but it's OK, not dangerous, it just a bit slowing down the trip. The local worker handled the landslide fast and effectively..hope this information can help you! :)
