We are arriving Pudong airport midnight. We are waiting for a friend to arrive at 6am. What can we do?

We thought of spending the night nearby or within the airport. Can we check-in the transit hotel? We are not really in-transit passengers.

How much? Is it per room or per person? Can the room fit 3?
