About:Chinese Consulate in Auckland

Hi,
A party of us will be travelling to Hong Kong and then overland into Beijing, China, less than 30 days in the country. We know we need a Chinese visa, do we need a separate one for Hong Kong also or not?

Can we get the visa by just walking into the embassy in Auckland?

What do we need passports, application forms offline, what else? Do we need passport photos, if so how many? And it says 7-10 working days to process these if we leave them in and travel north of auckland and on return could we pick the visas up or what is the best way?

Thanks,
Lisa

British passport holders do not need visa to Hong Kong for 180 days, but you need ones to enter mainland China. Besides the passport and application form, other requirements are: One recent passport sized color photo for every one;Travel itinerary prepared by travel agency, copy of return ticket (e-ticket); invitation letter from relatives or friends in China including the inviters' personal details and contact information. You should also provide your valid NZ visa or entry permit on their passport.
You can make few days trip to Auckland and submit your applications there to the Chinese consulate. The regular processing time of a visa is 4 working days.

you should prepare one photo in 2 inch with white background, the allication form, the detailed hotel and the plane ticket. It is not neccessary for you to provide the invitation letter.
