About:China Visa Fees

I have a resident permit but my employer is going to cancel my visa at the PSB. They won't have my passport so I will still have the resident permit in my passport, which is valid till next year.

If I stay here for six months and then leave, then I guess I might be fined when I leave even though my passport has a valid resident permit in it. (There is a lot of different advice about whether I would be fined on the internet though)

Some questions, if I may:

- If I can buy an international plane ticket online, does that mean my resident permit must be valid and I won't get a fine?
- If I will be fined, can I just pay the fine when I cross over the land border to hong kong? I mean, is there a chance they'll say "you have to go back to Yunnan and speak to the PSB there".
- What are my chances of being detained even 1 day if I say sorry, pay the 5000 fine, and plead innocence that I thought my resident permit was valid because its in my passport?

Mr. Coconuts, if your employer can't take your passport to the PSB, he can't cancel your residence permit.

Even though you will be fined, you just need to pay for the penalty when you cross over the land border to Hong Kong. You don't need to go back to Yunnan.

If you really worry about the residence permit, just exit China as soon as possible and apply for a new China visa in Hk or a foreign country and enter Mainland China.
