About:Chinese Consulates in South Africa

I've been trying to call to make an appointment to come apply for my Visa but the phone is just ringing. Will I be helped if I come without an appointment. I am visiting for about 3 weeks. What must I bring

The appointment is not required, You are welcome at the public opening hours of the Consulate General. If you want to apply for China Tourist Visa to go to China for sighteseeing, the requirements are:
1. One completely filled out Visa Application Form.
2. One recently taken 2X2 in. photo. Please stick the photo to the application form.
3. Original passport with at least 2 blank visa pages and valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of application.
4.Hotel booking and copy of air ticket.
5. To travel to the Tibet Autonomous Region, an approval notice issued by China Tibet Tourism Bureau is required (E-mail: public.ls.xz.cn|ttour, Tel: 86-891-6836850, fax: 86-891-6834435). Applicants are recommended to join a tour group. Please Contact local travel agency to get travel approval.
6. South African Chinese who applies for Chinese visa with his/her first SA passport is required to submit his/her previously owned Chinese passport and SA neutralization certificate.
