About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Hello, I'm a student and I intend to do my internship in Shanghai on this coming September. I had applied multiple entry Visa F for 6 months in London today. I wrote 180 days in the intended stay in Shanghai, but the officers crossed it off and he wrote 80 days instead (not particularly sure on the writing, probably 90 days, I'm blur) if this is happening does that means after 90 days later I need to fly out of China and apply a new visa from my own country? Can I extend my visa F in China instead of oversea. if it is possible where can I do it? Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon

Mr.Ndy, can you tell me the entry number of your visa? If you hold a single-entry F visa with 90 days stay duration after entry, you need to fly out of China and apply for a new visa from your own country, but you can also have a try to apply for extension of F visa at the Shanghai Exit & Enter Department under Public Security Bureau 10 days before the expiration of your F visa.

Please don't worry, if you can't extend your F visa at the Shanghai Exit & Enter Department, then you have to leave China and apply for a new Visa.

A million thanks Mrs Linda for the reply! :) well I'm applying the MULTIPLE entry of Visa F so I suppose there should be unlimited entry into China within 6 months, is that correct? but the thing is I'm still not sure are they giving me the minimum of 30 days or maximum of 90 days stay in China per visit. I will get the visa tomorrow. So I wondering, if I do not want to fly out from CHINA in order to fulfill the 30 or 90 days of stay in China (Since the ticket is so expensive) could I do it (EXIT CHINA AND RE-ENTER CHINA AGAIN) in the Shanghai Exit& Enter Department under Public Security Bureau like what you had mentioned in your previous post?
Also actually I'm a student and I will do internship in China, I felt it weird that my friend he could get 180 days of stay in China but I only get 180 days but separated into 90 and 90 days in UK, I;m blur. I thought Student inyernship could get 180 days of stay in China or am I wrong?

If the above method is impossible, than can I exit China through Hong Kong and get back to China again (since Hong Kong is China territory) and when I get to other country do I need to do anything on the visa before I re-enter China again within this 6 months period? Hope to hear from you soon!

Thanks.x

Its true that you can enter China for many times during 6 months if you hold a multiple-entry F visa. You need to exit Mainland China if the 30/90 days stay duration per entry is up, you can't do it at the Shanghai Exit & Enter Department, you can go to Hong Kong then re-enter Mainland China, HK applies different exit & enter controls from Mainland China, in visa regulations, they are regarded as two countries.
