About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

I am an American (U.S. Passport) currently in Peru. I would like to visit China beginning in October and travel throughout the country. I have been contacted by some schools to teach English but I want to decide in which city. I would like to have a multiple entry visa so I can visit several times to different places. Can I obtain this visa from the Consulate in Peru so I don't have to return to the U.S. before I leave?

Thank you.

You can have a try to apply for multiple-entry L visa from China embassy in Peru if you have a Peru Residence permit. Now, the Chinese embassies refuse to issue China visa to applicants who are not resident in the country.
