we have the same concerns, we'll also be flying in on the same cebu pacific flight. i've been checking around on the best options to take,safety is primary concern, the only available option if you want to go to the hotel already is by taxi. i dont know if the car rentals are still available at that time. they say that a shuttle bus waits for 45 mins after for the last flight arrives but it will only take you to people's square, then you have to get a taxi afterwards.
there is an hourly hotel at the airport - been trying to get in touch with them for reservations/rates - but the number indicated could not be reached.

Thank you for the infos... my wife and i have already decided that we'll stay at the airport upon arrival until around 7am...since we're first timers in mainland china, we don't want to take a risk, we might get lost...we've been told by our friends that taxis are still available, but they charged a minimum of CNY200 after midnite. I will also be going to Shanghai on CebPac. I was able to book a room at the Dazhong Merrylin Air Terminal Hotel for only USD61. This hotel is walking distance from the arrival area. According to forums, it's a 5-minute walk. The Maglev is also accessible from here.Hope this helps.
