I will be working in Putian province (close to Fuzhou) and I am looking for the cheapest way to get to the Philipines in early October. I plan to take a short trip on a very low budget. Is there a ferry from Fuzhou to any location in the Philipines? I am considering leaving during Chinese National Holiday. Would you advise that I do so?

My other option is going to Taiwan. So I'll be happy to hear any suggestions you may have.
