I will be taking China Eastern flight MU582 from Vancouver to Shanghai PuDong airport (arriving at 3:25pm). Six hours later, I will be taking China Eastern flight MU5186 (departing at 9:55) to Beijing Capital Airport.
(1) The first flight is an international flight and the second flight is domestic. Do you know if I can check by luggage directly from Vancouver through to Beijing and clear custom there ? If yes, how does it work because there will be domestic and international passengers on the same plane.
(2) Must I collect my luggage at Shanghai, clear custom and re-check my luggage for the domestic flight ?
I am trying to see if I need to carry my heavy luggage for several hours in the PuDong airport. Your response is greatly appreciated.
