About:Beijing Capital International Airport

Hello. My son is travelling from Hong Kong, through Beijing to London next week. He will be in transit through the airport as he does not have a visa for China. If he arrives in Beijing airport at 22.35, (Dragon Air flight), can he stay the night in the transit area as he only flies out the next day at 13.30 (Virgin Atlantic flight)? Thanks.
