About:Chinese Embassy in Czech Republic

Hello!

My name is Karicia Quiroz, and I am an undergraduate student from Canada. I am currently heading to Prague from July 10th to July 20th to study at the European Summer School at the Institute of Economic Studies of Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University. However, I am also going to China and Malaysia in August for a trade mission. I am one of 30 Canadian youth selected to be part of the Junior Team Canada trade contingency to China and Malaysia, where the team will meet with industrial and business leaders, the China Council for the Promotion of Internationa Trade, and several ambassadors as well.

I was recently notified over the July 15th deadline to have my Chinese VISA sent in to the Junior Team Canada staff. However, since I will be in Prague as of July 10th, I cannot risk leaving my passport at the Chinese embassy in Toronto two days before going to the Czech Republic. Thus, I am going to attempt to obtain my Chinese VISA over there in Prague, as a Canadian citizen. In Toronto, the fee was $50 Canadian dollars for a single Chinese VISA, meaning a VISA for a short stay under 3 months. Since I am only going to China under less than 20 days, I assume that this is the same case for when I apply for a Chinese VISA over there in Prague?

I would just like to verify that I can, as a Canadian citizen, apply for a Chinese VISA in Prague. I would also like to know the costs of this procedure, as well as the length of time VISA processing will take, as I will be needing the passport for most of my stay in Prague.

Your assistance in this matter would be most helpful!
Regards,
Karicia

It is possible for you to apply for China visa in Prague, but it is not 100%, sometimes, the visa officer asks for the residence permit of Czech Republic valid for at least 6 months, in such a situation, your application will be denied, now the time is so pressing, you have no other choice, you don't have a time to get a China visa in Canada.

It takes 5 working days for the China embassy in Prague to prcess visa application, the fee for single-entry visa is 40 Euros. You need to leave your passport at the embassy for 5 working days.
