About:Chinese Embassy in Malaysia

I have a fried need advice on her passport renewer issue. She is going to extend her Malaysia visa for duration of 5 years and she is now holding a China passport which is going to due on coming 1.5 years.
Can she renew her passport right now to cater for the 5 years Malaysia visa.

Pleas help.

Now, she can't renew her passport, generally speaking, China passport can be renewed within 1 year when the passport will expire. Now, her passport has 18 months remaining validity. She needs to wait for 6 months, when her passport has only less than 1 year remaining validity, she can renew it.
