About:China Visa Fees

Hi! I'm a Philippine passport holder, and I'm planning to backpack through Yunnan and Sichuan for two months. Problem is, the embassy here in Manila is only willing to give me a 30-day VISA. If I apply for a 60-day VISA, I'll need a letter or invitation of some sort explaining why I'll need 60 days.

(I asked about if I can extend my VISA in China, and the woman at the embassy tells me she doesn't know. My god!)

Anyway, my 30-day VISA application has already been filed. I'll get it by the end of this week. Does this mean my only option is to try getting my L Visa extended in China? Can a Filipino passport holder get a 30-day extension? I'm planning to apply in smaller towns, as it takes less time to process. I'd really hate it if I'd have to cut my trip in half just because I can't get another 30 days!

Thanks!

Ms.Hershey, it is possible for you to extend your L visa for another 30 days in Yunnan or Sichuan province, however, please bear in mind that you can only extend it at the exit & enter department under Public Security Bureau, maybe there are not exit & enter department in smaller towns. As I know, there are local exit & enter departments in Kunming, Lijiang, Zhaotong, Lincang of Yunnan Provice, there are exit & enter departments in Chengdu, Neijing, Guangyuan of Yunnan Province.
