About:China Transit Visa

Currently in vietnam, we may want to travel overland to hong kong, since flying is to expensive. If we have a train ticket straight fromhanoi to hong kong, or step on a plain in china, do we still need a visa? And how much would a potential 'transit visa' cost?

yes, you need a visa to China if you take a train. There is no direct train from Hanoi to Hong Kong, you have to take a train from Hanoi to Nanning, then go to Guangzhou and Hong Kong by train. If you take a flight and the stopover between 2 flights in China is less than 24 hours and you do not leave the airport, a visa is not required.
