About:Lanzhou Travel

I am considering about teaching high school in Lanzhou, Gansu and can anyone give me some information about the weather, the city itself, things to do, night life, etc. I have been teaching near Guangzhou very close to a city named Huadu for a college for 2 years.. Beofe that I was teaching in Suzhou in Jiangsu provinvce for over 1 year. Will this place be to boring for me and is the city pretty westernized.. thanks ken

No, Lanzhou is not westernized, a bit boring as you day than Suzhou and Guangzhou, I think. There are many muslims here. It is close to the western area of China. If you are wiling to see desert, grassland, to explore Xinjiang, Qinghai and Tibet, Langzhou is good starting point. The yellow River run through the city. The weather there is drier, colder and more windy. Anyway, it is different from Guangzhou and Suzhou, but it is not bad anyway.

Well, the nightlife is not very developed here, however there are a couple of nightclubs which close about 3am... even there is some place to dace most people just come there to drink. Its different to clubs in guangzhou etc.
