About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Hi,

We are South African citizens living in Korea. We want to go to China twice:

1) for 3 weeks in November this year
2) for 2 months in April and May 2011

But, we will be leaving Korea in November this year, and we won't be coming back to Korea. We will be travelling around South East Asia during this time. Can we apply for 1 visa in Korea that will cover us for these 2 visits to China? Perhaps a 1 year tourist visa? Or will we need to apply for 2 seperate visas?

Thank you!

Ms.Kim, you can have a try to apply for multiple-entry visa valid for 1 year, then you can use the visa to cover the 2 trips in China, however, you should provide sufficient documents to prove your planned trip, such as the round-trip flight tickets to China in November 2010, in April and May 2011. I guess that it is a little hard for you to provide them. If you can't provide them, on the visa application form, you can write that you need multiple-entry visa valid for 1 year, the final decision is up to the visa officer. Maybe you just need a single-entry visa valid for 3 months.

In korea, you may submit visa application to the travel agencies designated by China Embassy/Consulate in South Korea. the embassy/consulate refuses to accept visa application from ordinary passport holders.

Thank you very much for the reply! Do you know how much a 1 year multiple entry visa is compared to a 3 month single entry visa?

Also, if I apply for 1 year visa and it is rejected, will I need to pay again for 3 months visa?

If I cannot get a 1 year visa, how long will it take me to get my visa in another country?

Thank you again!! :)
