About:Changchun Travel

I am hopefully moving the Changchung in August to teach but the different websites i visit give totally different descriptions of the region. One website says that it has very clean air the next says it has the worst pollution in China. One says it has good tourism the next says that it isnt a tourist area due to problems. Can anyone who has actually been there or lived there give me there experience and opinion? Thanks.
Charles.

Hello,Mr.Swallow
Donot feel confused. Comments are all from different perspectives. I do not think you should take in anyone of these two or anyone will be true. Changchun should be a places that has its own good and bad sides. Since you are going to Changchun anyway, be prepared to live it and find it by yourself.
Wish you a happy living there!

Changchun is a good place to live- people are friendly and food is great. It is very cold in winter but if you have good clothes and boots you will be fine. CHangchun itself doesn't have a lot of tourist spots but there is easy and fast access to Harbin, beijing, shenyang, dalian and other places. The weather here is mostly clear and dry and pollution is at a lower level than in most of china. - I have lived here about 8 months.

Yea, the air pollution here (and most places) is dirty alright. no doubt about it if you were to compare to where we come from. I have been to Changchun, Shenyang and it's bad. Be prepared for traffic madness too, people here horn their cars to breathe. And walk carefully how you walk to avoid all the spits everywhere, it's a horrible habit I could not understand. But in all, the people are ok, if you can put up with all above.

Hello Mr. Swallow (England)
How are you doing in Changchun? I am from USA and I've been invited to teach there. Where are you teaching now? How is that going for you? I am teaching in Suzou now and it is not that cold. And I am from California. Any feedback or comment will be appreciated. I hope you are doing well.
