About:China Transit Visa

Dear TravelChinaGuide.com

My wife is a Chinese National i.e. citizen of the PRC, currently living in Chenzhou, Hunan, Mainland China. She will be moving to the USA to be with me in early July this year, assuming her Visa Interview at the US Consulate in Guangzhou on June 1 goes well. I have already purchased airplane tickets for us. We are scheduled to depart Guangzhou, mainland China on July 9 using China Airlines. Our flight connects through Taipei where we have a short layover at the airport then board another plane which will take us to our destination of San Francisco USA.

My wife is concerned that she might need a Taiwan Visa of some kind when we pass through the Taipei airport. Can you please advise us whether this is true or not?? She is only passing through the airport, connecting to another airplane taking us to the US. So, does she need some kind of Taiwan Visa, China Visa, or "Transit Visa" in this case, even though we're Not leaving the Taipei airport? Can you please advise us?

Thank You so much for any information and helpful advice & guidance you can provide for us!

Most Sincerely,
Franz Bazar
US Citizen in San Francisco, California, USA

In my option, she doesn't need a visa or entry permit to Taiwan because she will hold the USA visa and the connection flight tickets which can prove that she only transits Taipei.
