i will be travelling to shanghai via hangzhou by air asia.

Question

I will be travelling to Shanghai via Hangzhou by Air Asia. It lands in Hangzhou at 2220 hours. Any suggestions on how to reach Shanghai upon airport check-out or shall I need to put up a night in town and continue my journey the next morning.

You can take the airport shuttle bus to the Hangzhou Railway Station, the earliest train leave from Hangzhou at 07:40 to Shanghai South Railway Station, you can live in this area and catch the train in the morning. If you are in a hurry, you can take taxi to the Hangzhou South Railway Station. It takes about 20 minutes and costs CNY60, there you can take train to Shanghai,the earliest one is at 01:44 and arrive at the Shanghai South Railway Station.
