About:Chinese Embassy in Indonesia

Hi, I'm from Indonesia. I want to apply for my China visa. The last thing I heard that I after 1 month, I have to go back to Indonesia and renew my visa in Indonesia. Also, I heard from my boyfriend that actually I can renew my visa in Hongkong.
Please give me the right information about it. Thx

I'm a little puzzled, do you mean that you hold a China visa now and you want to renew it in Hong Kong?

Ms.Astrid, you don't need to go back to Indonesia to renew your China, the China visa can't be renewed if it expires. If you get a single-entry visa to China, you can just enter Mainland China once, when the stay duration expires, you have to exit Mainland China, if you get a double-entry visa or multiple-entry visa, you have to exit Mainland China when the stay duration per entry expires. for example, you get a single-entry visa issued on 18 May, 2010, you have to enter China before 18 August, 2010, Duration of Each Stay is 30 days after entry, you enter China on 1st August, you can stay in China until 30th August, 2010, you have to exit Mainland China on 30th August, 2010.

I'm an Indonesian passport holder.
You mean, that if I want to stay in China longer than my visa, I just need to go out from the mainland (for example to Hongkong?) and then enter China again for one more month?
Thx

if you hold a multiple-entry visa, you can exit Mainland China and go to Hong Kong, then re-enter Mainland China for another month, if you just hold a single entry visa, you can only enter Mainland China once, you have to apply for a new China visa if you want to go to Mainland China again. The double-entry visa only allows you to enter Mainland China twice.
