About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

I am using the Canadian Passport to visit China for the first time. I was told that I need to bring Chinese Passport to Embassy when I apply a Chinese Visa. However, I lost my Chinese Passport and I only found a photocopy. The Chinese Passport was expired in 2003, so what should I do now?

Thanks,
Helen

yes, First time applicants whose former nationality was Chinese, shall write down his Chinese name in the application form and submit his original Chinese passport or the photocopy of the information page of the passport. Now, you can submit the photocopy of your Chinese passport.
