About:Shenyang Travel

I am considering a teaching position at a new High School in Shenyang. My husband and I would be moving there from the US state of Wisconsin, but we are considering have children in the next few years. Is it a great city to live in? Can we hike or experience nature in the area? Would it be a good place to raise young children? What is the pollution like?

Hello! My girlfriend is from Michigan (near Wisconsin) and she sayd that the weather is very similar to her hometown. I think that you will find it quite comfortable, because you are used to it. There are many areas to hike around Shenyang, and you can easily find One-day Travel Agencies to take you there and pick you up for a reasonable price. About raising a family here, I know many foreigners who have had children and successfully raise them here. I think its an excellent choice and once you find others who are like you, they can provide support anf help once you get here.

The pollution is not as serious as media reported, because many factories closed 10 years ago. Many foreigners raised their chilren in Shen Yang, some are already working as a local. Junior education is fantastic in Shen Yang, but the tertiary education is rubbish. Anyway, it is a great city to live in, and it is important to make some local friends as they are very helpful.

I am here since Jan. this year for the purpose of opening a high-end supermarket. The weather & pollution is similar to Seattle. City is not so much interesting compare to Beijing & Shanghai. But have nice nutural resource nearby for your activity, which is convenience fron here to travel to other cities.
