JOHNECAROL,

I've spent alot of time in Yancheng over the past 5 years. There are not many foreigners outside of those who stay at the JinLing hotel and are visiting for business. I lived there for a few months at a time and then rented an apartment in a brand new building between there and downtown. I'm sure I got very overcharged as I was in a rush and always traveling around had to pay 6 months in advance. But for 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms kitchen and big living room in a new elevator building was 5,000 USD for the year. There was a Times supermarket nearby which is very modern with western style offerings, there was also a dry cleaners and even a gym. I think since I was not staying permanently I got a little overcharged and you could do better, but if that. There are scores of new buildings being built. But aside from the Korean population working for Kia you will probably not find many full time foreign residents. Not sure if that is god or bad for you, but if you have big feet better buy shoes before you move there! The city has grown quickly and the new airport now has a daily flight to Beijing and Guangzhou and twice a week to Seoul and Hong Kong as well.
